Initial Orthodontics Consultation
Amrit Burn Orthodontist Seattle WA Clinic
Your complimentary initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This 45-minute visit will give Dr. Burn insight into your orthodontic needs, so she can address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment.
1.  Would you benefit from orthodontic treatment?
2.  Is now the best time to start treatment?
3.  For a child, should treatment be delayed until growth is complete or all the permanent teeth are present?
4.  What type of appliances and procedures will be needed?
5.  Do any teeth need to be removed?
6.  How long will treatment take?
7.  How much will it cost?
8.  What are your financial options?

Please provide the following information at the time of your first visit:
1.  Any panoramic X-ray taken by your dentist within the past six months.
2.  If you have orthodontic insurance, please bring your insurance information so we will be able to give you an estimate of your benefit.
3.  A completed patient questionnaire, which can be downloaded on this site.

Records/Treatment Planning
While many questions about treatment can be answered during the initial consultation, Dr. Burn can only address specific areas after careful analysis of complete diagnostic records. She feels it is important to analyze each patient's specific needs prior to initiating any treatment, because careful planning leads to better results and more satisfied patients.

To expedite the process, you may reserve time following your initial consultation for the completion of these diagnostic records. The records include photos and impressions for study models, which are necessary for developing the appropriate plan for your treatment. There will also be a radiograph taken to assist in treatment planning. This appointment will last approximately 45 minutes.

Treatment Discussion
After thorough analysis of your records, we will invite you for a consultation visit to discuss treatment options, estimated treatment duration, and financial arrangements. Dr. Burn wants her patients to have a clear understanding of these issues before committing to treatment. We invite you to take the information home to think it over, and will make an appointment to begin treatment at your convenience. That said, we want to be considerate of the time it takes to schedule multiple visits, and so, it is often possible to begin treatment on the same day of your consultation if you wish.

You may have heard of, or experienced, a more rushed approach, but Dr. Burn is committed to allowing you and your family the time to decide if our office is the right place for you to receive treatment, and to allow herself the time and information to determine the best course of treatment for you.

1. Is the doctor experienced with Invisalign?

Becoming certified is actually very simple, but experience comes with time. Dr. Burn has worked with Invisalign for over 11 years, and continues to expand her knowledge and experience with this product.

2. Is my case appropriate for Invisalign?

There are some limitations on what type of tooth movement is possible with Invisalign, but often even in the most severe cases, a combination approach with aligners and clear braces can be used.

Yes, if all their permanent teeth have erupted, and their case is appropriate for Invisalign. Dr. Burn is certified as an Invisalign Teen provider, and can tell you if this technique is a good option for your child's orthodontic treatment.
