Clear aligners are a type of orthodontic appliance, and can be an alternative to traditional braces in many cases. A custom designed prescription series of virtually invisible "aligners" are worn to straighten the teeth. The aligners are changed at a specific schedule until your teeth are straight. The biggest advantage of this type of treatment is that is nearly undetectable to anyone who does not know you are undergoing orthodontic treatment. The aligners are completely removable, so there are no restrictions on what you can eat, and it is easier to maintain excellent oral hygiene than with traditional braces.
